Unique Object Wall Painting Spallt

With the unique mural "Spallt", the renowned artist K.O. Götz has created a one-of-a-kind work that transfers the expressive power of his painting to the material porcelain. The mural measures 74 centimetres in height and 153 centimetres in width and consists of three carefully crafted panels made from the finest Meissen porcelain. Each segment is part of an overall gestural expression - powerful, impetuous, direct.

An abstract composition full of energy and movement unfolds in bright red, deep black and intense blue. The brilliant, smooth surface of the Meissen porcelain enhances the effect of the colors and allows the dynamics of the brushstroke to stand out impressively.

As a unique piece, "Spallt" combines centuries-old Meissen craftsmanship with the gestural abstraction of one of the most important German painters of the post-war period. Here, K.O. Götz, co-founder of the German Informel movement, transfers his characteristic vocabulary of spontaneity and dissolution of form to a completely new medium - thus opening up an exciting dialog between tradition and avant-garde.
